Ironstorm - Wrathwind album cover

"Wrathwind" is IRONSTORM's very first release, a six song EP. Five of the tracks are very interesting and diverse, though a bit sloppy. I was extremely excited to find that the band is female fronted.

"Wrathwind" is the opening track and was disappointing with tedious keyboard instrumental and random drums thrown into the mix. I was unimpressed with the first two tracks, but the third song titled "Revenant" pulled me in a bit. The vocals are complex and exciting, while more progressive and trash elements are placed in nicely throughout the track. "Dreamons" has strong vocals, tight guitars, and awesome rhythms.

A great part about the album is that you can find out what IRONSTORM sounds like live in the last track "Come Back In Glory," recorded in concert. This release is fairly solid considering it's the band's first, though there are quite a few rough patches throughout.
