When it comes to Finland you expect Melodic or Power Metal release. Best artists of the mentioned genres can be found there. This time, it`s not the case. Though IRONCLAD hails from Finland, they carry completely different vibe. Their sound on the "Strike & Ravage" brings the sound of true metal. All elements of a heavy/power metal sound are present on this EP brought by Violent Journey Records.
Opening track "Strike & Ravage" is a conjunction of sturdy riffs and bursting rhythms, with riotous Folk Metal like chorus. After track like this, you`ll only want more. "Harder Than Steel" with it`s contagious groove and thrash base just won`t allow you to stand in one place. "Warriors" is nice crafted track, where guys from IRONCLAD try to deliver slower rhythm, and partially succeed in it. It`s not bad, but they`re way better in faster tracks. Closing track, "Demon Heart" brings the storm of voracious riffery.
"Strike & Ravage" does just what one EP should do. It gives you a chance to get to know the band, and gives them chance to see what path they should take. For IRONCLAD is most definitely path of heavier riffs and faster rhythm, cause that`s where they show best. Keep an eye on this band... Surprises may come...
