Iron Savior - Megatropolis 2.0 album cover

Well I'll be damned, it's nice to work for Metal Temple, because I get to discover new bands I'd never discover on my own most likely. IRON SAVIOR are definitely a band I'll be keeping my eyes out on for. Being into Power Metal a hell of a lot, MANOWAR being my main influence, I was happy to give this one a go. With crushing drums and fast, powerful riffs and amazing vocals on par with the likes of Eric Adams, Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson, I'm in Metal Hell.

I can't recommend this band/album enough. From beginning to end you are delivered an amazing, powerful soundtrack that was left me repeating it a good number of times before writing this review.

"The Omega Man" begins with the crushing drums and amazing, powerful riffs and epicness already. I sense some SABATON influence here a little too. The addiction has already begun. Hard, powerful licks are the main hype for me here as well as the vocals, them vocals though!

The fast exciting hype continues with the title track "Megatropolis 2.0", hells to the yes, the inner Heavy Metal in this one is strong and extremely enjoyable with a bit of Speed Metal edged on top. This German Metal band certainly knows how the Metal should be delivered.

"Flesh" is a slow one but the Heavy remains, leaving you wanting more power and a vocal range with some additional growls, brutal riffs excite me pounding my fist into the ground. Oh yes, pounding thunder sound effects really add that "pounding" motion.

Damn you ANVIL, saying "pound" a lot more nowadays...

The sound production here is also spot on, no negatives there.

Anyway, onto the epic "Cybernetic Queen" the 80s Rock and Metal influence is strong in this one with the vocals at the very least. I swear there is nothing but good I can talk about with this winner. Vocals similar to my brother Sean Peck from DEATH DEALER and CAGE come to mind strongly here too. I'm still shocked at how addictive this classic album is. I'm pretty sure the other albums have the same effect.

Next comes in "Running Riot", which just left me crushing my head with an enjoyable pounding bang, I can't help but wonder why I haven't come across this band before?! This is perhaps the truest Heavy Metal record (not including other labels) I've discovered in a long time.

The rest of the album has the same effect but with different additional power and extremely talented mix of well, everything. "A Tale from Down Below" certainly has this charisma, more exploding riffs, everything is in almost perfect rhythm, this is definitely on the ranks of a True Heavy Metal masterpiece, at least for me. I especially love the additional sound effects if I'm honest, lightning bolts of thunder certainly leave a powerful effect on me. Wow.

This is definitely the case for "Cyber Hero", the lyrics are the main attraction for me here, lyrics that almost sound like something from a MANOWAR or SABATON song, can't go wrong with that. The ending is especially funny, a German guy yelling at an annoying computer. Brilliant.

"Hammerdown" is another reason why I think there's a lot of influence from Sean Peck, Piet Sielck sounds like a true Heavy Metal God on par with all the other talents I have mentioned. When I see them Live I will be going nuts, most definitely.

To sum this review up well, I'm especially happy I got the chance to review this epic band who should most definitely get the attention they deserve. Power Metal is such a great genre when done right and this pretty much perfect album did just that.
