10 Wasted Years
Iron Maidnem

There must be hundreds of tribute bands for IRON MAIDEN worldwide. Well, IRON MAIDNEM can as well be in the 'Top something' list. Hailing for Hungary, they've been around for more than 10 years - in other words, started practicing before the whole 'tribute' typhoon appeared - and have already participated in the Somewhere In Hungary tribute compilation album (2002). 10 Wasted Years is said to be recorded in order to celebrate the band's 10th anniversary.
Looking for a cruel judgment on the band's takes, you'll come up with nearly nothing. Everything - from the vocals to the guitars/bass to the drums to the keys to the overall sound - is in (approx.) perfect order. IRON MAIDNEM delivers what's aimed in total comfort. Either they are diabolically skilled musicians or they worked their asses hard on building up such an impressive 'tribute' disc.
That said, it can easily be retrieved from the tracklist that IRON MAIDNEM withdraws the Dianno days and does not care at all 'bout the post-80s era of the British legends. Hence, what's been exposed is the - said - artistic heyday period of the Maidens, making it inevitable for the Somewhere... (4 selections) and Seventh son... albums (3 selections) not to dominate the tribute's songlist. Still, you can check here that the band relates to their mentors' whole discography. If I had one or two picks under pressure, I'd vote for the 1988 10-minute opus and 1986's Alexander The Great versions. No inadequate edition will you find in here, on the other hand; no way.
Being rather weird for a tribute band to cut a disc (since such kind of bands usually breathe onstage), I can now get the idea behind this specific issue. For the IRON MAIDEN collector and tribute CDs fan this is a 'must buy' CD (order here). To grade the originals is an insult, yet to score the tribute band's achievements is worth it: amazing.
