Iron Fire - On The Edge album cover

I always try to be nice. I always fight 'till the last note to find a reason to put a decent rate on a new release 'cause I know that -almost- all the bands sweat in the studio in order to put out a record. Sometimes they don't help me at all.. When I say at all, I really mean it!
This the second effort of Iron Fire to make a good name among the millions of the new bands which come out of nowhere. They fail.. Their name might be catchy and maybe many people know about their existence but that doesn't mean that they buy their albums. Iron Fire play melodic power metal in the vein of Running Wild and Helloween. Deeply inspired by the German scene, their riffs sound familiar, they solos have been played a million times and the drumming is more typical than typical. You have heard almost every riff they play before and you know all their solos too. The vocals are nothing special at all. In fact I don't like them. The singer seems to me that he has some abilities but he doesn't know how to use them. That's might also happened because of the production which is really average. I hear many new power metal bands every month and I can say for sure that Iron Fire don't stand a chance to make something really good if they keep on like this. They really luck of originality. They are fine musicians but I don't think the metal scene is in need of power metal bands like Iron Fire. To give us what? One more typical power metal album? We need no more typical power metal albums ( well, we need only the BEST ones and definitely On The Edge doesn't belong in this category) . What we need is bands with something really special that can carry the flame of heavy metal in the new millennium.

The cover is by Andreas Marschall (at least that's what their website says) who made covers for Running Wild, Blind Guardian and others. Hell, even the cover is not good! Andreas has done better covers than that! It's very very simple ( like their music). Their lyrics are simple as hell too and REALLY predictable.
ONLY for power metal freaks who buy everything that comes out with the label power metal. Sorry guys! I'm really sorry...
