Sinister Demise
Into Darkness
The traditional ways of Metal styles are truly a passion for some.
This is the case of many bands, and sometimes, it seems that they are trying to recreate the style, add some elements to the most traditional ways, or simply do that because the bands' members love that way of music. And this last one seems to be the case of the German trio INTO DARKNESS. The third and newest album, "Sinister Demise", is a clear proof of that.
Besides, their music is played for passion for Death Metal in its purest form, in the same vein of the earlier albums from masters as the MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, DISMEMBER, GRAVE and many others. But we can hear that these three guys set some different elements on their songs. Some Thrash Metal influences on guitar riffs and even a good technique in some moments. But don't get the wrong idea, because "Sinister Demise" really can damage your ears and minds. And it's very, very good.
The sound quality is really very good. It is done in a way that you can understand every single musical arrangement, the instrumental tunes were chosen in a wise way, turning their musical outfit a bit dry, but heavy and intense. And of course, their songs sound truly aggressive. And the artwork was done by the legendary artist, Joe Petagno (the same one from MOTORHEAD and KRISIUN covers).
The band uses a very good approach, knowing how to wisely create musical arrangements, and had some good special guests, as Quinho (former NERVOCHAOS guitarist), Hannes Grossmann, and Alexander Siedler (from HERESY), all these guys playing guitar solos.
Their best songs: the technical and brutal assault of insane rhythmic session presented on "Left Behind", the intense and full of rhythmic changes "Throne of a Thousand Miseries" (presenting some very good and intricate guitar riffs), the short and more traditional (in a Death Metal sense, please) "Sinister Demise", the intense and impacting work on guitars and vocals presented on "Human Benediction" (some good technical rhythmic changes are present here, indeed), and the excellent work of bass and drums on "Spiritual Remains" (there's a melodic feeling presented on this song, along with some Thrash Metal influences) and on "Suffering a Reality" (even being a more simple song).
They can be one more Death Metal band, but they are really good.<
