Insomnium - One for Sorrow album cover

Well, well, well... Finland, Olympic athletes, the seasons, and...some of the best fucking bands in the world. So with that in mind, I won't make the same thing that others made in others reviews; you know the names, you know the groups, so it's up you to fill this space............., ok with that being said, let's talk about INSOMNIUM. These guys have been around since 1999, and with their talent, the have made themselves a space in the "Melodic Death Metal" label, letting nothing left to prove, they are so good at what they do that I feel like an idiot trying to write about them.

Their power has its basis in the guitars, some fast riffs, mixing with the mid-tempo and eventually slow motion of their music, making you feel a lot of things in the same song. The voice is so powerful that overcomes you in a lot of ways, and what about the drum & bass section, they are too coordinated, making sound each song in a very good structure providing the perfect company for the rest of the band.

Despite having a rather slow introduction, everything ends up fitting together nicely, doing an excellent job in keeping their sound like always, but better. This is a sound that is uniquely their own and thequality is something that is becoming more and more difficult to find as the scene becomes more popular (not saying that popular is bad, but the bands that goes popular eventually becomes terrible, Ex: IN FLAMES, SOILWORK)

"One for Sorrow", could easily become one of your favorites in your album library, not only for the good talent of the musicians, but the sound they reach in this production. How good sounds every instrument, and the feeling of being lost in the darkness, but still with the guts to fight that you could feel at the end of the album...simply amazing.
