So ladies and gentlemen today I have the great pleasure of reviewing another of INQUISITION's legendary discography with their fourth release "Nefarious Dismal Orations", it is a great pleasure to be reviewing another of their great records as these records have helped to carve Black Metal as it is.

The first track I wanted to dive into first is the records second track entitled "Nocturnal Gatherings and Wicked Rites". As with many of INQUISITION's songs they start off hard and heavy with a quality of sound that takes you back to earlier Black Metal releases from such bands like MAYHEM and EMPEROR, the one thing though you can always find in their music though is the fact that the quality of the sound makes the music rougher and more powerful for the listener to take in and admire. It is this very sound that has inspired many modern Black Metal bands to take on the challenge of sounding as dark and as heavy as these bands, but what makes this song powerful is not just the quality of the sound but the speed and the aggression which defines the band and makes them stand out as one of Black Metals most admired bands. I can say as a fan that through their sound and their style they give off this vibe which makes you wonder at first I would say, for when I was first started getting into INQUISITION I didn't know what to really think until I got into the groove of what they were doing and this song sums it up perfectly: that it is the speed and the aggression that makes this a heavy hitter of a track, and to this day it stands as a testament to what they have been able to continue as a band.

The next track I wanted to go into is the records fifth track entitled "Infernal Evocation Of Torment". The opening to this track starts with a very low voice opening the track to a fast and relentless style of guitars and drums which pound deep into the mind of the listener and take the listener into a void of dark and destructive ideas which present themselves as the song in a style which creates a force of dark strength and creativity, to me this is one of the more melodic songs on the record as the riffs used within the track present themselves as melodic and different in many ways which shows that the song has been structured very differently compared to the other tracks but shows that there is much more to offer on this record.

To conclude, the record itself has stood the test of time since its original release in 2007, but even still fans agree that this record is still one of their best to date, so with any fans out there reading I would say pick up a copy of the reissue while you can because this is a record for any Black metal addicts.
