INHIBITIONS is a Black Metal duo from Greece, a nation that has a rich Black Metal underground scene. They are along Satanath Records' vast roster of Black Metal artists, and they released their sophomore effort "With The Fullmoon Above My Head" last June. The album features nine tracks, consuming a total of 45 minutes.

The album takes off with "Deadly Silence", which at the same time establishes the tone of the entire album. It has a mid-paced tempo, simple but effective riffs, strong bedrock of bass and drums, and a decent vocal production. It has some changes in tempo here and there, but is predominantly mid-paced. It does not really show any promise, but still proves to be a decent listen. "Spirits of Evil" is a more engaging and more dynamic song. It opens with full blast but still makes room for progression. The drums are on kill mode, and the term picking is on point. Again, the only issue sticking out is the memorability.

Meanwhile, songs "Voices Inside" and "The Final Pain" take a very different form. It has thick Scandinavian and Celtic influences which shows in the overall production. It also has some bites of DARK FUNERAL, BEHEMOTH (early), and even a little DARKENED NOCTURN SLAUGHTERCULT. "The Final Pain" is notable for its gloomy atmosphere.

The track "With The Fullmoon Above My Head" is easily the most appealing song off the album. Being the longest song, it is more spacey and dynamic. However, it does not really capture that triumphant feeling that you always look for. That might be because the riffs are plain and dry. It is energetic, it is very dynamic and really engaging - but like all of the songs in the album, it doesn't remain with you as the notes start to fade. The song "Κανεισ σασ δε θα μεινει ζωντανοσ" is a cool addition with generic Black Metal elements featuring some shadows of ROTTING CHRIST, and the vocals are entirely in Greek. Unfortunately, the album is closed with what's easily the weakest track "Phenomenon". It's simply dry, uninspired and lazy.

"With The Fullmoon Above My Head" would have been a decent release, if it is a little memorable. The songs simply lack that charisma that will make you go back to it again and again. The production is also mediocre, being so generic and being not really effective at it as well. Nothing special to find here, just another Black Metal album.
