The sun is out in the UK, the bird is singing, and there is a light breeze in the air. What would make this even better you ask? A monolithic Black Metal album that makes you want to hibernate until the ice winds flow and only hatred exists in your black, cold and empty heart. Thankfully INFERNAL EXECRATOR has managed to condense raw brutality and impeccable musicianship into a 31-minute slice of Black Metal mastery on "Ad Infinitum Satanic Adherent".

Boasting perhaps some of the most grotesque and beautifully haunting album artwork to come out of the Black Metal scene in recent memory, this album doesn't try to be something it is not. The opening salvo of "Baphometerror Invocation" doesn't try to woo you with a heartfelt narrative for instance. Instead it spits vocals of pure hatred and barbaric sounds, raw and animalistic it sets the tone for the entirety of this album.

Standout track "Dajjalegionaire Pademonium Triumphant" lends itself more toward Grindcore than Black Metal, yet it encompasses you in its vomited lyrics and percussive drums. Yes by this point you may have realized that the track titles are completely ridiculous here. But Black Metal is about the showmanship and ridiculous, and these titles only add to the welcoming aura of this album.

Production is the largest asset to any band in the modern age, with the advent of studio technology any band can pick a sound and have it instantly.. With Black Metal of old searching to create a sound that echoes that of a cavernous pit with endless reverb, INFERNAL EXECRATOR have opted for a tighter sound that only allows the sound to be turned up louder without any of the instrumentation suffering.

A bite sized taste of the magnitude of flavours that Black Metal offers "Ad Infinitum Satanic Adherent", is worth far more than one playthrough. Infact, this reviewer is going to get it on vinyl.<
