Black Hearse Serenade
Indestructible Noise Command

INC reminds me a lot of DRI, as it has a lot of similarities to the latter starting from a 3 word name to the style of the music. Ok, the music is not exactly the same, but INDESTRUCTIBLE NOISE COMMAND blasts some seriously relentless Thrash Metal that puts some of the bigger names to shame. Welcome to their 4th full length album - 'Black Hearse Serenade'.
"Stirring the Flock" starts of like a live song for initial few seconds before turning into a relentless Thrash anthem with heavy thick riffs and screaming vocals of Dennis Gergely with some tasty solos in the later half. The theme riff makes you air guitar instantly and will remind you bands like ARTILLERY, CORONER, ONSLAUGHT, etc. "Sainted Sinners" goes on with similar sound but with more groovy riffs and synthetic guitar work. Again the fast passed guitar work is the highlight along with the screaming vocals. "Cyanide & Whiskey" is more experimental with the vocals as Dennis Gergely brings in both Grunge style vocals as well as the usual Thrash vocals in the same song. "Organ Grinder" is a Groovy song with great fast riffs tempting me into the air-guitar mode. Those groove elements have LAMB OF GOD influence written all over them! The next few songs are quite ordinary, though not bad, fail to bring anything new to the table. "No Turning Back" clearly shows how much INC have been influenced by ARTILLERY, those haunting riffs are on a level of their own. The last song "Love Like Napalm" starts as a slow ballad before turning into a heavy song, totally reminding me of ARTILLERY's "Delusions Of Grandeure", with some beautiful lyrics. Speaking of lyrics this is what the band themselves have to say (I thought their words would explain it better than mine).
"Black Hearse Serenade" tells a story set in Southern California about a broken man, his congregation of runaways, junkies and lost souls and a murderous path to finality. A childhood filled with embarrassment and shame, born of religious zealotry and an overbearing mother, that broken child has now become a man."
Though there are disappointing parts in the album, as a whole this is a brilliant come-back album for these New York Thrashers with some excellent sounding riffs, even the production is very commendable, and the 47:37 min here is totally worth your time. Treat the Thrasher in you.<
