A World So Cold
Illuminata

Ok. Let´s be straight about this: it's not a new style, it's not catchy, and hell... it's damn boring. Sorry for that, but I've always tried to make the reviews as a fan, because as I've said before, in the musical world, everyone is better than me; so with that being said let's cut the crap and head on to the point.
This has no difference with what has been done before for other bands with or without a name. The Symphonic-Gothic-Power mix is an antique form in the Metal world, with a difference that ILLUMINATA failed in making something descent. They are very good musicians, that's for sure, but when the time comes to play a song, I started thinking in something else. Sadly, nothing in what went on here took my attention.
Same riffs, mid tempo or slow in each and every song, voices that I've heard too much before, lyrics that made me feel unsatisfied and without inspiration, symphonies and melodies that are the same darn thing that has been in the making in the last five years, clearly showing the listener that this will pass by with no shame nor glory. This is only another band that failed like immeasurable number of other bands that had made the same try.
I know I've been harsh while writing this review; it's not my intention to offend artists who have made an effort on putting their creations in the world like ships in the sea, but as a fan I need to be very sincere and impartial. ILLUMINATA as musicians have a lot of potential, but they need to create different thing. Unless they make another decision and show their talent making another kind of music, everything that will come up will be almost the same. This release has barely anything that is good. However, perhaps something good could come out of this... think about it, you´re good, but "A World So Cold"... that's exactly what it is: Cold, Cold, Cold.
