There is Light (But It's Not For Me)
Illdisposed

ILLDISPOSED was the second of three bands that were assigned to me at random. After listening through it once, I was surprised that the band has been around for 20 years. Their sound is pretty much the typical by-the-numbers Melodic Death Metal with equal parts American and Swedish sounds (even though the band itself is from Denmark).
After listening to some of their back catalogue, especially 1997's "There's Something Rotten in the State of Denmark", I have to admit that I am disappointed in what ILLDISPOSED sounds like in 2011. Gone are the 80's sounding solos. Pretty much any lead guitar-work is absent aside from some very pedestrian melodeth melodies. The riffs chug along while being few in quantity and unmemorable. The one original member, Bo Summer, adds nothing to this album.
If ILLDISPOSED were aiming to sound like every other band of this style out there, they certainly succeeded. It is a shame that this is what the band is reduced to, because based on some of their earlier material, they wrote some very enjoyable music, even if back then it was not entirely unique, either. The production is smooth and glossy, perhaps too much so, but even that cannot make music of this caliber worth hearing.
