Ignominious Incarceration - Of Winter Born album cover

When you see such a band name you get the idea that your speakers will have to face a pretty brutal Death/Grind assault. Then you take a look at the cover artwork and it is like it was taken from an RPG PC game. And finally, you remember to wake up and realize that most of the new bands that pop out nowadays have a big dose of melody in their music.

The band was formed in 2006 somewhere in the south west of the United Kingdom. To be more precise, the band hails from Taunton, Somerset (I don't even know where that is). Their two years of life have been spent in a pretty good way as it seems, since the band has managed to sign with Earache and tour with bands like CRYPTOPSY, BRING ME THE HORIZON, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED and BENEATH THE MASSACRE.

To tell you the truth, when I came across the name of BRING ME THE HORIZON I was literally on my knees praying that IGNOMINIOUS INCARCERATION had nothing in common with the shitty Mallcore act. I can't stand one more BMTH clone band. The UK based act is more like trying to mix successful genres and Of Winter Born contains elements ranging from Deathcore to melodic and technical Death Metal. There are times they may remind you of JOB FOR A COWBOY while others they will sound similar to NECROPHAGIST. It may sound good, but to tell you the truth this album didn't manage to attract my attention at all. Extreme music with nice production, something I have been sick and tired of coming across the last years.

I guess you can trust a pure Death Metal band for technical extreme music that doesn't contain the core word in its music. As for IGNOMINIOUS INCARCERATION, well one more average extreme (?) Metal band in the scene.
