If Hope Dies - Life In Ruin album cover

From Germany comes a very interesting proposal in the Progressive / Thrash and new Metalcore sound that Metal Blade has been experimenting with, of late. If Hope Dies and their new album Life In Ruin...
I dare to say I enjoyed listening to that album. A solid production helps to bring the band's clever ideas to the front. The album's character and tone are set by melodic guitars interchanged with brutal staccato speedy and catchy parts and a rhythm section, rapid pace in competition with breakdowns... driving the songs home in the best possible way. Fast and intense, at the same time musically complex and lyrically involved (Anthem For The Unemployable, Nuked From Orbit), this album shows promise for the future.
I guess this is the new trend, let's accept the new idea. Thrashers, speedsters and connoisseurs of interesting new wave of Metalcore music around the world, Life In Ruin; keep your eyes on this one.
