HOLY DEATH is a Death/Doom Metal band formed in 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. They have release several Eps, and their latest is a two-part EP called "Mortal Terror." Combined, the album contains seven songs. "East ov Eden" is the first. It's a slow, heavy song with meaty bass notes and harsh vocals, lasting just over two minutes. I hear many Death Metal elements but not so much Doom Metal. "Ultraviolent" is another short and heavy song, with a slow and lumbering pace. The guitar work is elementary, unfortunately. "Annihilationism" is another two-minute song that sounds exactly like the previous two. Besides an over-reliance on the open E chord, the song presents little variation or excitement.

"Serve No King" is a little longer, but again without much in the way or originality. Four tracks in, and there has yet to be any variation. The fifth track I could not list, because it is an Asian symbol of one kind or another. Here is the first sense of variation, as the two-minute song just presents tense background tones, like you might find deep in outer space. Keyboards provide the sound if I am not mistaken. "Practice Death" is another short offering featuring many of the previous sounds re-hashed again. The band clearly is not interested in taking any chances, or straying from their sound at all.

"The Blood Earth Consumes" closes the album, again with heavy thuds and elementary riffs. Although they work in a little variation, the song doesn't get off the ground. I will never understand Metal bands who refuse to deviate from the norm at all, and this album was doomed from the start, wallowing in tones so similar, they might as well not even have different song titles. You can safely skip this for sure.
