Hex - God Has No Name album cover

From Spain the Death/Doom Metal band HEX has returned with their second full length album "God Has No Name". Formed in 2012 the band has released one other full length album and one demo. From what I have listened to so far this band is incredible. Bassist Endika is absolutely incredible as well as guitarists Jon and Adolfo WB. The drumming on this album from Asier will blow you away and the vocals from J are sick. This album is a must have for fans of Death and Doom Metal.

We start off with the song "Thy Kingdom Gone" which begins with some chanting and eerie whispers and then it gets dirty from there. The song is as gritty as they come and reminds me of early BEHEMOTH. This song is amazing and a phenomenal way to start off the album. "Soulsculptor" really shows off the bands Doom roots right from the start. The tuning they have the guitars in really melds well with the bass and drums. It also has a really nice groove to it.

"Worshiping Falsehood" is an amazing song and one of my favorites on the album. I really enjoyed how it felt like a really pissed off yet depressed song.  I have to say that the drum work on this one kicked ass. As far as Doom/Death Metal bands, this is one of my favorites now. "Daevangelism - The Dark Sunset" starts of with a bit of talking along with the instruments. I couldn't really understand most of what they were saying, just bits and pieces. Around the one minute and forty five second mark the song really kicks in.  This is one of the slower songs on the album so far, but it is really good regardless of it's tempo.

"Where Gods Shall Not Reign" is by far the most Doom sounding song and it's amazing. It even includes some female cleans in it which makes it even better in my opinion. Towards the end of the song it picks up and gets pretty brutal which was also really awesome! "Apocryphal" kinda gives off an old school Death Metal vibe which is great. I really enjoyed this song a ton. "All Those Lies That Dwells..." is the final song on the album. It starts off heavy as fuck and it is another one of my favorites on the album. This song sounds more like a Blackened Death Metal song than anything which I really enjoy. I really loved this album from beginning to end and will be listening to it for a while. I recommend picking this up as soon as you can.
