The production along with the musical ability if the members of HELLWITCH along with the technical capabilities of today's recordings make this re edit a dream come true for both fans of the band and modern day thrash aficionados alike. I t is an honor to be able to listen to NOSFERATU, the band's first demo and a true depiction of almost orchestral proportions when it comes to the entwining of several musical elements from one song to the other but specially from one riff to the other. A microcosm of notes and musical convergence that transports the listener to the very birth of thrash metal right after Heavy Metal and Punk Rock had a one night stand in one of the sleazy parts of the bay area. HELLWITCH is a techno-thrash band from Ft. Lauderdale Florida, founded in 1984, they are well seasoned veterans in the world of Thrash Metal and have been around for more than thirty years showing the world how it is done.
Ever since "THE ASCENT" and "NOSFERATU" the multiple ascends and descends embody what the spirit of Thrash Metal is really like, an emblematic convergence of elements that create contrast and blend together in an ongoing onslaught of a sublime experience for those of us that cherish this rebellious to the death attitude in today's conformist musical scene. Even after all this years, tracks like "Sentient Transmography" and "Purveyor of Fear" keep the original sentiment and most of all serve as an example or blueprint of how things can be started when looking for a sound or starting your own taste in metal, if it wasn't for reissues like these, there wouldn't be a chance for this to happen among new generations that might get to believe for lack of availability that what is called mainstream is the best there is to choose from, but as you might agree, the effort of digging a little deeper does always come with a greater reward than the energy spent. A marvelous example of how things where done back in the day for nowadays scene, just check out the picture of the band in the official website to see how cool it is to look at a band of four members with three original members and a very young professional among them, I bet the experience is just priceless.
