I raise my head and look at the sky. Tears are falling down my face. I am searching for God just to ask him... Why? Why have you chosen me? Why do I have to go through all those Metalcore bullshit? I know that you are behind all this! And it is not any Metalcore album; it comes from Lifeforce! The only positive thing is that I don't have to spend much time.

HELL WITHIN were formed in 1998 in Lowell, Massachusetts. The band was formerly known as TWYTCH. They released various stuff under that name, but they changed it to HELL WITHIN when they signed with Lifeforce Records. They released their first album (under their new name) in 2005 (Asylum Of The Human Predator) and this is their second work through Lifeforce.

I am currently listening to Shadows Of Vanity and I feel a bit sleepy while I am writing these lines (because of the album). Ok, I know that I am being really mean when I review a Metalcore album, but as you have seen, I have said good words on some releases from this scene. It is just that an album has to be pretty good to make me write more than five lines about it. Unfortunately, HELL WITHIN do not belong to the listenable category. Their music seems a bit uninspired and the tracks caused me nothing more than boredom. The sound is great (speaking about the production), but as I have said in the past, this is Metalcore's only good point. The vocals are incredibly common, something that makes the album less interesting and the only thing that I earned while listening to Shadows Of Vanity is a CD that won't be useful at all!

If you are into this genre and your age is no more than 16 years old, you should definitely buy this album. If you are older than 18 and you still listen to Metalcore, you should go and see a doctor. Next review please...
