Hmmm, it has been a while since I reviewed a promo with such a "beautiful" logo. And the name also seems charming. I just hope the music is equally charming...

With a line up full of familiar faces (yeah, despite the fact they wear corpsepaint), the French legion HELL MILITIA attacks with its sophomore full-length work (first one through their new label Debemur Morti Productions). If you are interested in knowing how a band that features members of ANTAEUS, ARKHON INFAUSTUS, MUTIILATION and TEMPLE OF BAAL sounds, then follow me.

HELL MILITIA is not about faster than the speed of light blasts and shredding guitars. What we have here is raw Black Metal with a really cold and claustrophobic atmosphere and a sound that almost suffocates you! The band is mostly based on the guitar work, which offers some more than decent "melodies" and vocals that try to reach this theatric feeling of Attila Csihar in "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas".

Even though there is nothing astonishing in "Last Station On The Road To Death", it is an album with nice atmosphere that can suck you into it and make you lurk into its dark corners until it ends. Not amazing, but I surely wasn't bored while listening to it. And the cover is surely nice, maybe even better than the original since the guys breathe some of their own style into it.
