Hell City Glamours - Hell City Glamours album cover

Even metalheads need their delirious dose of heavy Rock n Roll from time to time. MOTORHEAD, AC/DC and 70s KISS are fine examples, while the outbreak of GUNS N' ROSES two decades ago surely did not go unnoticed. HELL CITY GLAMOURS hail from Australia and some 'links' can instantly be created in mind, OK. Beerdrinkers and hellraisers is what we all fancy and Hell City Glamours is another little vertebra in the Rock n Roll spine. Roll on.
Australia has provided the Rock/Metal world with a series of willful acts, no questions asked. This gang has been around for seven years, flirting with noisy guitars, plain tempos and rockin' dirty vocals with a sleazy portion visible (or, better, audible). A punk Rock dimension is not out of the question plus someone claiming they have a smell of Southern Blues Rock in their songs would not fall out of any logic, too. Do not know if this their first full length - some EPs and a 7 single have preceded this release - but that does not matter anyway since more than 45' of music will probably shake your soul.
Demanding Metal maniacs will not find some kind of interest in here. Else, rockin' vagabonds and dirty Hard Rock enthusiasts will as well fall in love with tracks like One Night Only, Back To You, I'm Not Here and In The Cold. The likes of AC/DC, ROSE TATTOO, HANOI ROCKS, NEW YORK DOLLS, THE BLACK CROWS, GUNS N ROSES, THIN LIZZY, BACKYARD BABIES, D.A.D. and even THE HELLACOPTERS are merged in this set of songs featuring party tunes plus a couple - or more - of more sentimental tracks. The leads are dirty yet paying tribute to the archetypal melodies of classic bands, while the vocals do not step on known recipes only, smartly boasting a range bringing to mind much but not exceeding the comparisons limit.
Hell City Glamours is the kind of album you can easily listen to your car, with your friends while chattin' bout women and Rock, in a relevant pub/club...you get the picture? It does not seem capable of bringing on the highest of expectations regarding HELL CITY GLAMOURS' chances to rule the Rock world soon, but you're surely invited to check it out. A good release, indeed.
