Specially Made For Your Satisfaction
Havanna Heat Club

HAVANNA HEAT CLUB was looking like a little gem amidst the numerous promo CD's that were waiting to be reviewed. It's not that I knew the band or I was sure that the album would kick major ass, but when you see a digipak release with a promo copy that describes HAVANNA HEAT CLUB as something that matches your taste you slightly convinced that you have to deal with something really good.
The German metallers/rockers have been around for 8 years and are coming straight from Berlin. The band has up to now released three demos and a full-length CD. The funny thing is that I still haven't clearly understood which one is the label that releases this album, since while reading the promo copy I noticed the label section that mentioned Nice Boyz/SAOL/H'Art as the label, but in their bio it says that it is Wacken Records that released this album. Anyway...
The band has managed to share the stage with bands like NEBULA, ROSE TATTOO, GLUECIFER, SUPERSUCKERS and MAD SIN, as well as the Thrash titans SODOM! The fact is that - if we exclude SODOM - the German Stoner/Rock & Roll act HAVANNA HEAT CLUB has taken some elements from some of the aforementioned bands (NEBULA, GLUECIFER, SUPERSUCKERS), while adding some influences from acts like FU MANCHU. The band's groove oriented R & R is well structured and the songs are pretty good, but there is absolutely nothing that could make their sound a bit special. I mean, HAVANNA HEAT CLUB is a decent band but they have nothing that makes them differ from many bands out there.
Let me also add that even though I liked Gotaut's voice there were times that he sounded like he was trying to go beyond what he is capable for. I guess that Specially Made For Your Satisfaction is suggested only to people who are into the groovy R & R scene and like finding new bands. The rest of you will probably not be satisfied with this album.
