Homem de Barro
Hate Embrace

Unfortunately, Brazil is full of racism and other hate stupidities. Imagine in a country like it to have people judging and saying nasty words about someone because the region or state where someone was born. A proof is that many people complained a lot after the result of past presidential elections, throwing the blame on Northeast people. It’s strange for some, but such thing happened. And they forgot (and still forget) how the region is culturally relevant from Brazil, and on Metal isn’t different. And HATE EMBRACE, from Pernambuco, comes with its new release, “Homem de Barro” (that means ‘Clay Man’ on English).
The production worked on a way that made things as brutal and aggressive as clean, because the band’s music is filled with many different influences and tons of Brazilian Northeast cultural inheritances (even hidden under the band’s brutal musical work). It means that it’s easy to understand what the band musically plays, and take its best. After the band released “Sertão Saga” back in 2014 (a conceptual album that tell the history of Virgulino Ferreira da Silva, a.k.a. Lampião, the greatest Cangaço leader on Brazilian Northeast from 1922 until his death on 1938; you can hear to it here: https://hateembrace.bandcamp.com/album/sert-o-saga-2014), the band states as a defender of Northeast culture. Here they’re back, again with a Death Metal embodiment, but here into a simpler approach than used on “Sertão Saga”, but still filled with excellent instrumental arrangements and rich in excellent melodies (some clean vocals can be heard, along with charming keyboards parts).
“Homem de Barro” is a Single with two songs (with lyrics and artwork based on a Brazilian comics called “O Argiloso Homem de Barro” - a creation of the Brazilian artist Luciano Félix, published on 2019): “Sertanejo”, that shows a simple technical approach with very good rhythmic shifts, and a great chorus (with clean vocals); and “Homem de Barro” depicts the same elements, but with a better technical approach and some excellent keyboards parts. It's time for HATE EMBRACE for a new full-length, because its music is excellent. Until this moment, “Homem de Barro” will satisfy the band’s fans.
By the way, you can hear “Homem de Barro” (and the other releases of the band as well) on its Spotify profile.
