Harem Scarem - Weight Of The World album cover

What I really like in Now & Then / Frontiers Records is that they try to revive all the Melodic Hard Rock legends that were lost within the 90s. So after Giant's brilliant comeback, it's Harem Scarem's turn to get back to the music style they know how to handle best (the resent years, when they were under the name Rubber, they were moving into different directions).
The self-titled song starts the album in a moody way, while fast chorus passes through mid-tempo riffs and heavy guitars. Weight Of The World, Killing Me and You Ruined Everything are handled with a serious-angry lyrical way (not the usual love melodic rock themes). Outside Your Window is a 100% Harem Scarem song, with big harmony vocals, acoustic trails and melodic guitar solos. All I Want continues in  a more joyfully way until the ballad of disc, This Ain't Over, appears. Here Harry Hess shows, once again, how emotional his voice can get. Internude and See Saw are two instrumental parts where Pete Lesperance gives us an idea of what he can do with his guitar. Barry Donaghy's bass playing and Creighton Doane's drumming are amazing in Charmed Life. My favorite, If You, is a song with sarcastic lyrics and great rhythm. The disc ends with Voice Inside an energetic melody, with catchy tunes and the usual harmony vocals and sweet guitar solo.
Weight Of The World is another step for the Melodic Rock to return to it's well deserved place. If you are into melodic guitars, harmony vocals and well played energetic songs, then you'll consider this album a classic. One more great comeback!
