Cursed Creation

Har

A promissing Blackened Death Metal name from Israel is what this release shows.

The Israeli extreme Metal scene is famous for names as MELECHESH, ARALLU, HAMMERCULT and others, and one can wait great things of a band of Israel, even when they’re not using any Oriental Metal element on their music. It explains why the work of HAR can sound so good for fans of extreme Metal tendencies. Play “Cursed Creation” at least once and you’ll understand. The trio is young, and tries to work on an Old School Death/Black Metal way, into something that can resemble to MORBID ANGEL (due the extreme fast tempos) and DEICIDE in some moments. The instrumental parts are extremely solid (with some moments where the drums sound technical), the vocals seem to be coming from the depths of a deep cavern, and everything else.

OK, even with their music isn’t being something new and different, it can be felt that as they evolve, they can become even better. It’s just a matter of patience. Alex worked on the recording of the drums, leaving all the responsibility on the hands of Tom Cohen to make the mix and mastering. The band tried to create something into an Old School Death Metal form, because even being nasty and aggressive, things bear an organic outfit. It’s not what their music deserves, but’s what they got, and it’s not a waste.

After listening to “Submerged in Cacophony” (brutal, fast, savage and with very good drumming), “Invoking Evil Spirit” (elements of Traditional Death Metal from the end of the 80s can be heard on this one), “Chronocide”, “Cursed Creation” (a massive blow of energy filled with Grincore influences), “Poisonous Entity”, “Infernal Passage”, “Shachat - Seven Halls of Defilement” (where finally some slow parts appear contrasting with fast Grindcore-orientated moments, what is very good) and “Metaphysical Stench” are offerings for those addicted on Old School ways.

It’s clear that HAR has a long way to go and evolve, but what’s heard on “Cursed Creation” is that they’re on the right track.
