GRAND DESIGN is a Melodic Hard Rock band from Västerås, Sweden and was formed in 2006 by singer/producer Pelle Saether. The band has released "Time Elevation" in October 2009, in 2011 "Idolizer" and new CD „Thrill Of The Night" will be out on 26^th October 2014.

My favourite track on album is "Rawk 'N' Roll Heart Attack" with fabulous bass, clear drums and impressive melody with memorable refrain in choir of 80's, which create it as a potential hit! Gentle opener in "The Rush Is Gone" with calmer singing changes into stronger climate with amazing vocal and choir of band. Such a memorable track with AOR rhythmic. I love also "You're The Only One" which begins in gentle ballad climate & the power inside the chorus is so amazing, choir of band, and music style remind me of such great bands like WINGER or WARRANT. There are mega power guitars in "Get Up 'N Love Someone" with a melodic singing choir, giving true anthem in Hard Rock of the 80's. Also hear able are DEF LEPPARD influences.

I like so very much the voice of Pelle Saether. He is a fantastic vocalist, he sings so clear that you can understand every word in the lyrics and he sings with melody. He proves it really well in "Thrill Of The Nite" where energetic riffs cooperate perfectly with the rhythmic section. Memorable refrain with gorgeous choir and amazing guitar solo create this song as a another big hit! Opening track "U Got Me Good" has many positive sounds, energetic guitars, and memorable refrain in climate of 80's. Also brilliant is ballad "When The Greatest Love Of All Kicks In" in slower climate with higher style of refrain.

Also worth to listen are: "Who's Gonna Rawk U Tonite" with heavier riffs, memorable refrain, and very melodic climate of true hard rock and the stronger "Rip Iddup" with catchy chorus and melody, "10 Outta 10" with positive energy and powerful rhythm. Also an incredible solo.

GRAND DESIGN connect Melodic Hard Rock with Hard Rock of the 80's and AOR. In my opinion it is very enjoyable album in listening. Production is on high level. Listenable is maturity, experience, and perfectness of band. The more I listened to this album, the more I liked it. Melody pours out from this CD. Elements are excellent played together. Everything is perfectly worked. 10 killer songs from this album will be surely an amazing gift for lovers of Melodic Hard Rock and fans of Hard Rock from the 80's. This Swedish band has their excellent style and they are very easy to recognize because of that and also vocalist Pelle has a fantastic voice like nobody else! Highly recommend.
