Genesis of Decay
Godless

When thinking about Metal genres done in the far east of the world, sometimes is usual to have the idea that the bands need to evolve a bit more, because they sound so near their influences that is hard to create deeper conceptions. But some acts can surprise the fans, as the Indian quartet GODLESS. Take a bit on “Genesis of Decay” to understand what such words means. The sonority is something that make people astonished, because it’s really in an internationalized format: clean and defined, sharp and brutal, with very good choices for the instrumental tunes.
It means that it’s brutality and aggressiveness will not make things hard to understand for the fans. The quartet works on a form of classic Death Metal that usual for today. It means that they’re not into an Old School trench, using insane blast beats and double bass parts on the drums, contrasts between grunts and screamed tunes on the vocals, and sharp guitar riffs and arrangements with sickening solos. It’s clear that they can evolve a bit more, but hearing to this EP more than one time creates the idea that they’re in the right path.
“Amorphous Mass” (the drums’ work on the rhythms is insane, changing from blast beats and double bass parts to Death/Thrash Metal rhythms, and them to slower ones), “Doctrine of Hate” (extreme good screamed tunes on the vocals, indeed, and many Death/Thrash Metal parts can be heard), “Silent Oppression” (the guitars creates very good riffs and arrangements on this one), “Prologue to Dissent” (that works as an intro), and “Echoes of Collapse” are moments that shows a great potential to be turned into music in the future, but that are very good by now.
“Genesis of Decay” shows that GODLESS is a promising name, and evolving a bit more, no one can hold back these guys.
