GNOSIS is a Black Death Metal band from South Florida in the U.S.A., date of formation is unknown but it is known that they were formed with different members from different bands from elsewhere, what matters is that the result is just fucking good, an album entitled "The Third Eye Gate" and it is going to be released on January 15th  2015 by Nuclear War Now Records, I already have my copy at hand and I tell you right now, fans of VARATHRON and ROTTING CHRIST will love this CD. With inspiration taken from the ancient ones and bearing name such as this, translating to English as Religion Of knowledge this album is about the mystic, the esoteric and the unholy.

The CD begins with "The Primaeval Light" ;brutality and a raw sound, deep vocals, and that typical riffs that reminds you of ROTTING CHRIST, musically is excellent, "The Plague Of Azotus" falls upon mankind, they managed to keep that ancient atmosphere and stuck to their roots, a total attack from the underground, awesome vocals, the guitar is sharp as a razor blade, excellent drumming. In "The Temple Of The Sea" you can see all the influences of VARATHRON, MAYHEM. Black Death at its best, amazing pace, followed by the Chariot Of The Sun Moon" I like the way the song is built up, good tunes and fast as a shark, the changes of tempo bring you down to your knees, GNOSIS have brought to the table a very interesting album, fresh and raw without too much fooling around and going straight to the point. "Cult Of The Great Serpent" is a great example of that, slow pace and deep guttural vocals with double kicks all over and a cool guitar melodies.

"Lotan's Dwelling" has lots of drumming variations and the guitar singing like a symphony from hell and the bass lines making this song very heavy indeed. The last two songs "Apzu Tiamatu" and "Gnosis" say a lot what this album is about, the underworld coming to the surface to conquer and destroy the weak ones, power and melodies with a very dark vibe, amazing stuff from GNOSIS. Last track "the Third Eye Gate" closes the CD in a very cool way, gathering the souls of those who dared to be free, very cool indeed. The production is top notch everything is cool and the art cover also, great album from GNOSIS and please gives us some more!
