Gläedjekällor - Jesuskomplex album cover

GLÄEDJEKÄLLOR is a one-man Black Metal band from Sweden that has been around since 2010. The band have released a few singles, splits and albums during their career - being the second album "Jesuskomplex" released in 2020 and that is what we are going to talk about.

The opening track from the album is "Åkarp" and it feels different, even if it is Black Metal, there is something different in there. I'm sure about what, but that does sounds good. The vocals are aggressive and medium tone gutturals, the instrumental is pretty good as well and played. "Idag mäniska - imorgon jord" starts with an acoustic guitar playing what reminded me of ALCEST and LES DISCRETS, which was a nice surprise to me. The song goes along with the acoustic guitars and some electric guitars arrangements, and the drums are pretty interesting as well, simple, but good. The vocals are clean and I must say that this song made me travel inside my mind... what a nice job.

"Den bästa sommaren" starts with a nice clean guitar tone and drumming that reminded me a little bit of Post-Rock and maybe some Alternative Rock as well. I am very surprised by this band. Great stuff! "Inkognito" starts with a speech and a bass note, that is soon joined by cool drumming. I don't know why the beginning reminded me of ARCTIC MONKEYS, even if there are nothing to do with it. The guitars here are distorted and there's a nice melody coming from the synthesizer. The vocals are gutturals, and they perfectly fit in.

"Jesuskomplex" is the title-track of the album and it starts with an acoustic guitar that is followed by some interesting percussion, and it will definitely make you travel inside your mind. It feels like an hypnotic song. The orchestration arrangements are beautiful and they were a game changer for the song to complete itself. "Evig är de dödas ryktbarhe" starts with a speech and some electronic music influences that are complete by an interesting orchestra. I am impressive by how different it is, if compared the to the rest of the album.

"Skilt åt att förenas" starts with a kid and adult speaking to each other, and then its joined by clean guitars, a piano and bass and drums. The ambiance from that song is really cool and I liked how it used the guttural vocals here. "Förgätmigej" starts with a clean guitar tone that is soon joined by distorted guitars, that plays the harmony of the clean guitars, and there's a guitar playing the melodies that goes along with the vocal lines. There's an interlude that changes the dynamic of the song but keeps the originality. Nice song.

"uppvaknande" is the last song from the album and it starts with an interesting percussion and clean guitar tone, that are joined by a man speech and some ambient sounds. That vibe goes along all the way till the end, and it does create an interest dynamic to the song.
