Eternal Cycle (single)

Genus Ordini Dei

Another great Melodic Metal band from Italy.
December 29, 2024

Three music professors with music degrees from Italy, united by their love of Metal, decided to get together to create GENUS ORDINI DEI around 2011. After 4 full albums and a bunch of singles, the band presents us with one more single titled “Eternal Cycle”. This is the second single they release in 2024 and I believe their next full album titled Glare of Deliverance, may be coming soon. The first single was “Three Kings” back in May 2024.

The new single “Eternal Cycle” also features the singer Ambre Vourvahis as a guest. Their sound seems to be highly influenced by Melodic Symphonic Metal and the band even became friends with one of the greats of the genre, the also Italian, LACUNA COIL. The track starts with a somber keyboard mood before the heavy riff introduces the guitars taking you on a journey. The vocals kind of surprised me. It starts with Niccolo Cadregari ruff guttural voice, then, I was expecting the suavity of Ambre Vourvahis vocals but I got some great dirty vocals ala Tatiana Shmayluk from GINGER, before delivering her clean and sweet vocals in a nice melody. The 2 vocals are intercalated like the beauty singing to the beast and vice versa. However,Ambre Vourvahis beauty can be a beast as well. In the middle of the track the band goes Death Metal kind of crazy showing a well tough song arrangement and song structure.

The chorus is also catchy. Great production and overall performance of both guitar players Tommaso Monticelli that also plays keyboards, and Niccolò Cadregari that also sings. The band has also a competent drummer in Nicola Pedrali that despite doing a great job, does not have a bass player credited to complete the band foundations. As a bass player, I take offense to this. Please add a bass player (they are not expensive).Good single that shows that a good album may follow. You can hear this track on the tubes despite not having a video. The band also has a live performance of this track that is worth watching.
