Hailing from Maracaibo Zulia this Black / Death Metal band brings their second release since two thousand, though I have not really listened to any of their material before. I find that this is a good thing as it does introduce me to a new band, and with their music bringing two of my favourite sub genres together I feel that this will certainly be a treat.
"Exidium et Creatonis"
From the start we are welcomed by this gentle and yet epic tone which leads to open the record. I found that this was a very interesting and really gentle sound which for a record like this is both peculiar and foreboding. I won't lie, but at the same time it feels like the awakening of something big and powerful, as if the very nature of it's soft and melodic tone is the waking call to a beast that has kept dormant throughout the years and now has finally been given reason to rise.
"Tormento"
The introduction gives off a Thrashy tone as it opened with the traditional speedy notes, but as the track progresses onwards we see that the sound and structure show their true nature with fast and empowering riffs as well as some very harsh and desolate vocals which work well with how the track is progressing. There are still sections of the song that permeate Thrashy vibes which for some may be confusing as you can't really tell if the band are going in a Death / Black approach or a Thrash / Black approach, either way the track kicks some serious ass.
"Sickness and Hecate"
For this track we see the band harken back to the record's first track with the mellow and very soft chords which for this track is just a gentle lure to the aggressive and hate embodied tones to come, the gravity of the suspense inducing a chuckle. Either way this track really hits the nail on the head when it comes to the structure and the power that we see the band take with this track and the way it can go from this simple rhythm to this really awesome progression that really is fascinating to listen to.
"In Dominus Blasfemical Est... Ad Noctum Sathania"
I've said it before and I'll say it again, whenever a band take it upon themselves to include a song entitled after the record itself you always have a dividing line between what bands do in terms of that track. Some want to emblazon the record with a track that states "this is the idea; let me know what you think". When it comes to the bands record title track though we see these guys really bring it full force showing the fans that this is a track that should represent the record and is something to fear as it holds what I feel are some of the record's better riffs and some very well-structured ideas put together in creating a final product.
"Towards the Kingdom of Chaos"
From the start we see the bands already familiar opening style which is a nod to traditional Black metal at it's best, when we see a band take to the traditional we can note that they wish to pay homage to the bands that helped inspire their style in the best way possible. This also shows us that a lot of bands are capable of infusing their ideas along with the traditional master arts and that is exactly what we have when it comes to this powerful and very soulful track by a band that really knows how to show us what they're made of.
To conclude, I feel that this record is a real treat for old school Black Metal fans as well as extreme metal fans alike and that if you like your fast and very intense tones then this is something to check out for sure.
