In Time

Hmmm, a totally majestic cover artwork, a pretty cold name and corpsepaint. What else can this band play than melodic Black Metal? Maybe melodic Black Metal with some completely different elements could be the answer. Anyway, FROZEN were kind enough to send their new full-length album and I had no problem at all being the one to review it.
FROZEN's brand new full-length work was recorded and mixed at Wild Studio and mastered by George Marino at New York's Sterling Sound. The band has done a really great job regarding the whole package and that definitely a plus for them. Anyway, let's get to the main subject now, which is no other than the music contained in this CD.
The band's music is a weird mix between melodic Black Metal, the NWOSDM movement, technical Death Metal, as well as some classic Heavy Metal elements. I know it sounds strange, but if you listen to In Time I am sure that you will find all of the above mentioned elements in it. The negative thing about this experiment is that the band has not work enough on its influences, making the album sound out of passion and structure at some moments. There are only a few times like the - in my humble opinion - incredible track Unborn, where the band unfolds its great talent and offers us a 7:23 magnificent song full of great guitar leads, technical breaks and some technical Death Metal touches (The bass lines kick ass). Unfortunately, not all the album moves at the same standards, something that would surely make some labels notice FROZEN in the blink of an eye. It seems the band has whether to move on a more specific musical path or work harder in order to present their diverse ideas in a slightly better way than now.
All in all, In Time reveals the band's talent and gives us hope that we will have to face stronger releases in the future. As for present, FROZEN need to spend some more time working on their strange, yet interesting mixture. I will just be really good to the band and rate them with a 6/10 just for their guts to play with the fire mixing all those different elements.
PS: I think that the corpsepaint doesn't fit the music guys.
