FREEFALL hails from Greece. Ever since hearing ROTTING CHRIST for the first time I always get excited to check out a Greek band. FREEFALL shares more with British Death metal legends BOLT THROWER than ROTTING CHRIST. Apparently, roughly 20 years ago, this band was more an Alternative Metal band but now they are pure Death Metal (DM).

This is a short release. Three songs plus one KILLING JOKE cover. The EP kicks off with "Aurora Boredalis." No atmospheric intros or experimentations, just low tuned metal that could have fit in on the early Swedish scene. Low death growls are mixed in to great effect with higher pitched vocals similar to AT THE GATES. The title track is so fucking BOLT THROWER blended through a USA DM filter. In reality, this entire release can be summed up quite easily. The band has a style and doesn't deviate. Luckily for us, they are killer at what they do.

So if you like your DM old school as fuck, with a smattering of melody blended in your brutality, then head over to Bandcamp and grab some killer music. I plan on picking up the back catalog and a shirt with the badass album artwork on it and repeat the hell out of this much needed-to-hear band.
