Fragment - Way Down To Hell album cover

Can you imagine how would a band sounded if they tried to combine technical / progressive and atmospheric metal at the same time? Like EVERGREY in their early days of their career you will probably say. Indeed that's a fine example of the aforementioned combination. But what FRAGMENT has to do with EVERGRAY? Well not that much I guess - but truth is that this young Italian act tries their best to deliver good music that balances upon all those genres.
Is it easy? Not at all - it takes a lot of skill to combine dark atmospheric music with progressive patterns. FRAGMENT as band manages to nicely balance skilful drum parts and a gothic background. The guitars play an important role by creating the demanding metal fusion but in the end is the atmosphere that takes over the listener. Alessandro Consoli hasa deep yet melodic voice that nicely blends in with the rest of the music.
In conclusion Way Down To Hell has many signs for prosperity in the future. Of course it is too early to draw a conclusion about the band's future but compared with other works in the field it seems like they are definitely on a really good track. Hope to hear more from them along the way...
