Harbouring Hate

As I've said before I am an old-school Thrash lover. Still, if I listen to something newer but interesting I tend to become enthusiastic about the fact that there are new bands that keep it alive. I can't say that I was impressed by FORGERY, but let's see...
FORGERY is a Thrash quartet from Norway. They were formed in 1990 but they only managed to release a couple of demos and then they stopped. After many years (and to be more specific, in 2002) they recruited a new drummer and after two years they also took a new guitarist. This was the time that the band was preparing its new material and after a couple of years they managed to release their first album called Core. After this their drummer had to leave and then Jan Roger Halvorsen (ex. OLD MAN'S CHILD, drums on ROTTING CHRIST's album Khronos, session drummer for ZENSOR, 54) entered the band. By then they decided to change their style from pure Thrash into a mixture of different Metal genres (and this is where my objection comes).
Harbouring Hate has many Thrash-y elements but it also has stuff from newer styles of Metal, which I don't like that much. I mean, when I first listened to it I felt like I was listening to a MACHINE HEAD album or something... Generally it's a good work but to me it's not that impressive musically. They've done their best and maybe for someone who's more into this style its a masterpiece. The cover isn't anything special, but I can say that I find the title of the album pretty good.
To sum up, if you're an old school Thrash lover you're not gonna like it. But if you are more into newer styles and you like MACHINE HEAD or similar bands you may love it.
