The new 2013 Re-mastered version of FASTER PUSSYCAT's "The Power And The Glory Hole" recently came across my desk, so I decided to write up a review of one of my favourite CDs by the band.

I've always enjoyed the darker, heavier stuff that Taime Downe has done with the NEWLYDEADS and on this CD. He's taken what FASTER PUSSYCAT was all about and added an almost industrial style to it.

"The Power And The Glory Hole" takes the snotty attitude of early FP and adds a huge bottom end to it. It gives it a menacing feel that the early stuff just didn't have.

Downe sounds amazing here and the rest of the guys playing on this really give it that total, complete sound. The covers contained here, "These Boots Are Made For Walking" and "Shut Up and Fuck" are definite upgrades over the originals and really nail the essence of those songs.

The CD ends on a classy note with the song, "Bye Bye Bianca", a tribute to the late BETTY BLOWTORCH singer and bassist, Bianca Butthole, who was killed in a car crash in 2001.

I'm not sure if this is going to win any new fans for Downe or the FASTER PUSSYCAT brand, though I think those that already are fans are going to love this. I do think this is a great addition to any record collection though.
