Extremity - Extremely Fucking Dead album cover

Death metal at it's best we give to you a delicious serving of California's own demented act of diabolic tastes EXTREMITY with their debut release titled Extremely Fucking Dead. Brought to you by none of than 20 Buck Spin Records that unleashes some of the best in metal regardless of the genre the label scored big time with taking on EXTREMITY as one of there own. Have to say that was an excellent idea for I would have never come across this highly charged act, nonetheless this brings me here to tell you what makes EXTREMITY so extreme. Think of power driven tunes to head bang to with the volume notched to 10 pumping out some sickly vile created songs to mosh pit to. Man oh man this album gets intense by each song minute. Despite it being less than thirty minutes with six tracks Extremely Fucking Dead nails it to a T with everything. Hyperspeed chaotic guitar humming riffs, blasted drums to death-meets-hell-in-the-face vocals this group takes me back to the days when OBITUARY and DEATH ruled the scene. Not a bad comparison for the energy of both mentioned bands ring throughout with EXTREMITY.

Showing such severe blissful music the band creates something sinister that grabs you by the horns to twist you into their world which leads us into beginning song "Intro (Mortuus Est Valde)". An eerie track that welcomes you into hades with a beckoning melody of discorded sounds that slashes into your soul penetrating every fiber of its existence. If that wasn't enough to spill your guts take following second track "Crepuscular Crescendo", a thick layered guitar inspired duo cross axing that lash into the intensity of vocal guitarists Shelby Lermo and Marissa Martinez-Hoadley. Such a blended duo that expresses what hell can't through their music the rest of the band is equally impressive. One thing that baffles me as to when one vocalist begins and the other takes over to which songs, but despite who does what singing it is excellent regardless. Track three "Bestial Destiny" blasts into chaosphere with their tight knitted dual guitar soloing that reaches to the likes of DEATH's own Chuck Schuldiner (Individual Thought Patterns-1993) to SLAYER's Jeff Hanneman (Reign in Blood-1986).

Two songs that are sure to win over are "Chalice Of Pus" and "Extremely Fucking Dead" for both songs in their entirely are the best off this album. Few might question why these songs, take it from me they are brutal as all hell and are not for the weak or faint of heart. So word of caution! Extremely Fucking Dead produces some of the best death metal since the bygone days of past which reawaken the listening senses into the modern day. Overall EXTREMITY pushes out a great album that is well written both musically and lyrically for which makes for an outstanding album to date. If brutal death metal in its extreme forms grabs you by the meaty balls, the look no further for EXTREMITY is all that and more (finger snap). Enjoy!
