Exhibit B: The Human Condition

It hasn't been that long since I interviewed Gary Holt and he talked to me about the band's new album. Since I didn't have the promo back then, I asked him how it would sound and he told me that it would be aggressive as fuck! These words were the very first thing that came in my mind when I started listening to "Exhibit B: The Human Condition". Let's see if that six string maniac was telling the truth...
The album really does start with some classic shredding EXODUS riffing that reassures you that "The Ballad Of Leonard And Charles" is not a ballad at all! The new album generally moves on the same fields the previous two works with Rob Dukes did. Long songs, shredding riffs, wicked melodies and a thrashing brutality that is ready to explode! Some fans did not like the new path the band has taken, but I can say I love it! It's not about selling out and stuff, it is about the natural evolution of these musicians.
Altus and Holt are really delivering a magnificent performance for one more time, since their weapons spit their poisonous riffs right in your face! Let's face it guys, this is the best guitar twin Thrash Metal has ever seen! The rhythm section really needs no comments since Hunting is a legendary Thrash drummer, who along with Gibson forms an impenetrable wall of titanium. And what about Rob Dukes? This poor guy has received much critic from the very first day he joined EXODUS. He has tried hard to fit in Souza's shoes and in my humble opinion he is doing a more than great job! Not only he actually continues what Souza started doing in "Tempo Of The Damned", but he is getting better and better with every album! In "Exhibit B: The Human Condition" he shows skills that weren't "audible" in the previous two albums, and he proves to be an ass kicking Thrash Metal singer! As it seems, EXODUS made a great choice when they picked him to scream behind the microphone!
The fact is that the new album gathers all the good elements from "Shovel Headed Kill Machine" and "The Atrocity Exhibition... Exhibit A", even some stuff from "Tempo Of The Damned" and presents us a brand new renovated EXODUS! It is definitely the best album the band has released since Rob Dukes stepped in and it is a more than great promise for an even better future! Holt is becoming a tighter union with Altus as time goes by, Dukes shows huge improvement and the rhythm section just kills as it always did! Enough said people! Go get it!
