Evil Within - Darker Than You album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: EVIL WITHIN; singed via 7hard Records hailing from Athenian grounds - performing Melodic Death/Black Metal, on their debut album entitled: "Darker Than You" (released 8th of February, 2019).

Since formation in 2015; the band in question have only this here debut album in their discography so far, entitled: "Darker Than You". 10 tracks ranging at around 47:37, EVIL WITHIN arranges an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Melodic Death/Black Metal almalgamations. The cryptic introductory opera: "Omen" begins the record, rising with an amplified aesthetic of electricity. "Eelgy" conveys boistrously bouncy grooves; generating a fiercely flamboyant fabrication of hardened hymns, hasty execution and diligently composed developments in which converged aforementioned sub-genres with vehement stability. Ultilizing versatile singing, solid slabs of profusely robust ramifications, and a wide margin of meticulous rhythms that thunderously demonstrate deadly blasts of lightning bolt epicness.

Consisting of Jon Lagen and Maria Galiatasou on vocals; the duo progressively provide quintessential pipes variating from guttural growls, high-pitched raspy shrieks that's savagely sinister and a vastly salubrious. Songs like "Your God" distribute dominant complexity; injecting infectiously diverse grooves, crunchy catchiness and inventively crafted creativity - contrasting concretely gritty chugs from dextrous duo Panagiotis Varvaropoulos & Dimitris Stathopoulos. Songs like "Seth" & the titular track implements blistering captivation; as both guitarists chug and gallop with stampeding riffs and solos that rampage with relentlessly sonic speed, seamless stomping and prodegious wonders of primitively technical skill - submerged with harmonic subjugations and hardened hymns in which are constructively distinctive.

Powerhouse drummer Leliel Clades and audible bassist Alex Lemonidis amplify with adrenaline; battering cymbals, mid-tempo pummelling & proficiently rapidly swift nimbleness. Songs like "Black Halo" & "Haze" establish an efficiently fluid grandure of melodious manifestations; lacerated with gnarly ripping that roars with rambunctious sound production qualities, quaking with barraged frenzies of hammering forges of blackened extremity. Featuring a guest appearance from Savvas Betinis in the next track: "Beyond Infinite"; bringing forth a frolicking pursuit of mayhem and consistent chaos, delivering enjoyably entertaining performances that are originally memorable...through thumping malice, charging anthems of hostile nature - to headbanging, orchestral implementations, embodies an atmosphere of experimental finesse - firepower and expertise.

"You Died" attributes adroitly conceptual composing; balanced with polished with raw remedies that rivet with malignant overarching of Melodic Death/Black Metal juxtapositions, jammed with jumpy onslaughts of killer screams of vengeance to prominent soundscapes of persevering results. Overall concluding "Darker Than You" with the epic ballad-esquire anthem: "Life Unlived"; I discovered a band with distinguished yet uniquely unprecedented musicianship and detail, culminated with instrumental dynamics in which integrate immersive intensities - dosed up with elegantly exquisite effectiveness of monstrously melancholic structures. EVIL WITHIN certainly excelled themselves here, and definitely exceeded my original expections greatly - masterful stuff.<
