EVIL WARRIORS. *sigh* seriously? Evil warriors? How much time went into coming up with this band name? I would bet my left nut that they just googled „black metal band name generator" and that's it. Easily one of the worst band names ever. Anyways, usual info, Black/Death/Thrash band from Germany, Leipzig, debut album earlier this year, let's get into the review. Honestly, I'm completely hopeless with this one. I think if I had the chance to listen to this LP 5 more times, I still couldn't write a review on it, because... I simply can't. I really don't know how I feel about it. I think the best way I can sum it up is this: I like it, but I'm not sure why. Compositionally and individually, these songs aren't all that complex, or interesting from a theoretical or "objective" perspective, but there's something really...
The album's best strength is the flow. On each listen, I could never tell if a song ended, and another one began, and that's not just because of how the songs' ending and beginnings are written, but the overall atmosphere is very...Also inexplicable. I don't feel a certain way listening to this record, it's kind of a "transcendent" vibe I get out of it. It doesn't make me go to a certain fictional place, it doesn't make me depressed, energetic, or anything like that, it just feels like an experience beyond this physical realm of time, space and matter. "Fall From Reality" is a spectacular example of an album not being a collection of songs, but an experience of listening through all of its 8 tracks. In fact, listening to these songs individually would kinda ruin the experience, so do not judge this album by certain songs you heard before you actually heard the whole thing from the title-track to "All The Stars".
