Dangerous Inside

Following up EVIL CINDERELLA'S debut EP release - 2014's "Wanna Get Dirty" - the new, five track EP is available to make your head bob and your foot tap. "Dangerous Inside" is a modern take on a classic premise, the sound of which has been brought bang up to date for 2017. The action kicks off with "Eagle Eye", a riff laden, slightly cheesy anthemic banger of a track that really does give a taste of what is to come on the rest of the EP. The fun continues with "Day By Day", a proper old chugfest of a song which gallops into your consciousness and burrows further and further until you're humming the tune without even thinking about it. I like everything about it, it's a bratty, balls-out tune.
The title track "Dangerous Inside" starts off well, with a good pace and some old school guitar and vocals to match. "Without A Chance To Fight" slows proceedings down just a tiny bit, showcasing Henrik's vocals, which aren't half bad. There are some good harmonies and dirty riffs and a solid rhythm all the way through. Final track "Pretend You Died" is an absolute corker; heavy, speedy and highlighting that these four German rockers have everything to play for with this new EP. Basically, EVIL CINDERELLA probably aren't doing anything new. What they are doing is taking an oversaturated and sometimes tired genre, putting their own spin on it and just having fun along the way. This isn't a perfect EP and there are little niggles about it that will probably bug me every time I listen to it, but actually, I rather like it. It's kind of moody and a little bit rough around the edges. I'll be interested to see what comes next for release number three.
