Number Two
Evil Brain Taste
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: EVIL BRAIN TASTE; independently unsigned, hailing from England - performing Thrash/Black/Death Metal, on their sophomoric full-length studio album simply entitled: "Number Two". Since formation in 2014; the duo in question have a demo entitled: "EBT" (released January 8th, 2014), an EP entitled: "I Am Evil Brain Taste" (released May 30th, 2019), a collab album entitled: "Terminated" (released June 29th, 2020) & 2 full-length studio albums entitled: "Dead Dead Bad" (released April 9th, 2015) on top of the 2nd full-length record of which I am introduced to in their discography so far entitled: "Number Two" - 12 tracks ranging around 40 minutes, EVIL BRAIN TASTE arranges an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Thrash/Black/Death Metal developments.
Opening up with a blistering barrage frenzy in amplified adrenaline, boisterously bouncy slabbiness ramifies with rampantly rompy rumbles of reverberation thuds that showcase solidly meaty rhythms... were tight, punchline grooves element at a distilled but chiselling viscerality within "Clandestine Corpse Concealment". Bludgeoning eardrums with razor-sharp tonality; monolithic tempo manifests with slaying sulfurate, as a bulldozing firepower expertise fabricates a dense impact in fierce calamity and distinctively clobbering foundations in rifting mayhem that's primitively raw whilst concretely gritty which provides this organically piledriving substance that's ruthlessly pandemonic... especially in the synthetic rampager "EBT".
"Off The Log" forges a hybrid experimentation in dexterously dynamic virtuosity within ripping shredder Stench's flickering fabrications in thumpy revs that rollick with frolicking chugs and belting bass audibility that's most insane in every sense, rapidly swift & momentously nimble... this sonically seamless pursuit rambunctiously slams with hefty execution from Bone's smacking slaps. "Eatmore Meat Products" crafts a distinguished flamboyance in crescendo building tremolo systematics; while "Voodoo Challenge Ritual" surges with more relentlessly malignant mayhem that will make you want to break chairs over other chairs in no time.
Vocally; raspy throatiness soars with uproarious yells & shouty barks, as bleeding gutturals grumble with vicious rage. "Creature Feature" has a catchy aesthetic embedded, as crunchy chunkiness salubriously utilizes versatile vehemence & quirky systematics, thrashing through with towering stridency. Striving on with an all guns blazing gnarliness in distorted havoc and chaotic madness, merging a firing all cylinder implosion amongst a harbouring hostility in oppressive malevolence that's most venomous whilst virulently infectious. "Cannibalise Me" has a chunky masquerade to it, distributing a complex bombardment in diverse but riveting noise terror, extremely forging a profusely robust tonality that's vigorously rigorous & renegading with blasphemous abhorrence for good sport.
"Cordell" conjures up more unique but blast beating brutality; while trailblazing with wrathful yet rampageous volatility, technically progressive and distinguished yet killer - nothing but a dense bombast berserks' speaker with quaking veracity. Until "Arithmophobia" rebels through you with throttling retribution that will unleash this skull bashing intensities that will rattle your soul with manic integrity, and then the penultimate banger "Life Is Scary" enforces groundbreaking artillery for more wildly rushing synergy that's stabilized with prodigious yet flexibly fundamental songwriting musicianship that's most stampy with steely precision & persistent perseverance's on prodigious prominence which remains vivaciously well... mental (of the good kind of course).
Overall concluding "Number Two" with the finale epic "Dark Side Of 40"; I am compelled to say that EVIL BRAIN TASTE most surely articulate in a foreboding fashion in berserking Thrash/Black/Death Metal amalgamations... definitely converging all of these subgenres with strong instrumental furore, as grandiose and grandeur whilst performed with skilful intrigue... I enjoyed a healthy dose of these justifiable musical mergers that made me want to go diabolical with maddening hysteria for a good, belligerent old time! Worthy of spinning & replaying a good bunch of times, as an interesting culmination fuses an enjoyably entertaining experience and discovery that's most radical and flexible but engaging...do check it out.
