Eternity's End - The Fire Within album cover

Today I have the honour and the privilege to write a few lines about the fantastic new POWER/PROG Records project leads by the young adventurous and ultra-gifted Guitar Hero Christian Muenzner (ex-OBSCURA), who brings his buddy and skilful drummer Hannes Grossmann (ALKALOID/BLOTTED SCIENCE) along with veteran vocalist, ex-ELEGY, Mister Ian Parry (ROCK EMPORIUM/ex-CONSORTIUM PROJECT/ex-HAMMERHEAD), to form a new exciting band called ETERNITY'S END.

It's a delightful situation, because their first album "The Fire Within" is truly amazing, right up in my alley, an intelligent and intensive blasting, a barrage of ambitious riffage, a shred feast revealed under a Neo-Classical stamp, a head spinning sonic whirlwind, full of high level virtuosity and still providing a strong strained edge, with an unadulterated force of Metallic boldness... Down on your knees! ETERNITY'S END is the new messiah's messenger, the beginning of a new era; the sign for a new cycle is here and we are blessed to witness the birth of such a marvellous album for posterity.
This heavenly silver platter contains exclusively a bunch of wonderful tracks, a breath of fresh air in those troubled times, this is our deliverance at least our musical salvation!

The keyboardist Jimmy Pitts (famed from his own high profile instrumental project THE FRACTURED DIMENSION) is also playing amazingly with the same fluidity, that why I will never praise enough the constant jaw-dropping duelling Guitar/Keyboards interplay concept developped here, those interactive solos are the cream among the numerous qualities of this amazing disc...The songwriting is perfectly balanced between the demanding elements and the necessary catchy parameters, all the songs are written with the same demanding expertise and complex exigency.

Displaying an obvious great talent for harmonious and bombastic themes mixed with plenty of headbangin' riffs, full of impressive contrasts between power and majestic subtlety, an impressive galore of progressivity in its first sense, intricate textures, strategically designed arrangements in a premium quality rank, focused on a density of surprising evolution, a few ambitious orchestrations, many complex and clever structures, plenty of scorching sharp rhythmics compensed by some ultra melodic interludes... The experienced frontman Ian Parry delivers, easily, his best vocal performance since his legendary ELEGY Days, notably hitting with ease those highest notes in "The Dark Tower"

Only the sublime and magnificent SUNBURST "Fragments of creation" album that received some well deserved praises here, can challenge or beat its excellency in the 2016 stream... If we weren't lucky musical lovers but politicians or scientists, then maybe we will choose to rate this music on the rule of the numbers alone, yet based on this technical potential alone, this album should be already crowned as the best of the year, hands down!

In fact , this genius album contains a serious dose of fascinating turns, but also clearly holds the ground for some premium elements set in a demanding technicality, that could may be looks scary to some narrow-minded like in the title track, "The Hourglass", "Eagle Divine" and the long final epic "The Fall of the House of Usher"... Oh my God. On the flip side, the starving Guitar fanatics, the speed picking enthusiasts, that are sick of the simplistic three chords/four bars songs, this time they will be close enough to Valhalla, almost touching the Fretboard Heaven in a climax of shredding virtuosity!

The high expectations are more than fulfilled, believe me, my musical dream in a phantasmagoric universe is almost reached and accomplished... Superb music indeed and the icing on the cake is that instrumental wizardry concept, is wrapped in a state of the art production crafted in a meticulous method by Christian Muenzner and fellow axe master Per Nilsson (SCAR SYMMETRY/ZIERLER)! They found a smart way to compose that takes you each time by surprise, with some digress patterns, a few unexpected progressions and some elegant arrangements in a majestic style combination.

My advice is to purchase blindly this piece of art, if you like to enjoy your life on Earth and its terrestrial Cartesian pleasures, or/and if you are passionate and if you take your music seriously and not only like a vulgar entertainment!
