Rotten Transition

ETERITUS has released their third full length record this September by the name of Rotten Transition, and are pushing down the path of decibel destruction, with an EP release in 2014, followed by their first full release in 2016 called Following The Ancient Path. In November of 2018 they returned with a second full length record called Order Of Death and captured true Polish old school death metal. In 2021, they look to continue down that path with the release of Rotten Transition, and just one returning member from the previous two releases.
After a build up intro, we jump into the track "Krieg", with a slow and charming start becoming a fast paced speed demon that it is, looking to bring your senses into war itself. An amped up bass flows well into the second track called "Frozen Towers" and reminds me a little of early Black Sabbath in that way, with some nice hammer on guitar to embrace an unease that it brings. With that unease, you are brought into a world of the undead, with a chaotic and pressure building track "Blood Infection", and continues down an evil dream spiral of your darkest fears.
We jump into a catchy beat followed with some low strung brutality for the next few tracks and you start to realize that the album is well put together, with each song really developing its own feel that distinguishes them apart very well. The second last track "Cursed Path to the Ancient Temple" has Nitro's drums brought right to your face as the tempo changes flow perfectly to deliver a well balanced assault. To close out the album, ETERITUS starts the final track "The Plague Will Come at Dawn" with feverish pace and aggression that becomes complimented with some great guitar work and slowly fades away.
All in all for me, I think the album Rotten Transition is well presented from start to finish, without becoming a cluster of 'when did one song end and another begin', which I find can happen with some Polish death metal. As more playing with a full time lineup can only strengthen, I look forward to hearing what is next to come from ETERITUS.
