Essenza - Blind Gods And Revolutions album cover

There is stir being caused in the depths of Lecce, Italy by Heavy Metal warriors ESSENZA as they release their fourth studio album 'Blind Gods and Revolutions'.

It gets off to a somewhat weird start with opening track "Plastic God (An Autumn Dream)"; it's one of those songs where it has all the right components for a Heavy Metal song but you are not sure whether you like it or not. From that point on it was the same, the songs are well put together but they just weren't grabbing my attention.

The essential components of these songs include raw sounding guitar riffs and solos you would hear in from the best old school Heavy Metal giants such as IRON MAIDEN and ICED EARTH.

My personal favorite track on the album is the very soft "Seagulls in the Night"; it gives us a break from the heavy distortment from that rest of the album provides.

The fourth installment from Italian Heavy Metal Outfit ESSENZA maybe turning some heads but for me personally it is simply a background soundtrack I would listen to as I complete different tasks.
