Essential End

ESSENTIAL END was born in 2014 from the United States. The band is made up of a unique mixer of best friends and a father and son duo, not something you see everyday. In the time they have been together they have opened, regionally, for many national acts. This has given the band the fundamental knowledge for growth and improvements. ESSENTIAL END's first EP release "Deadwood" comes in with four tracks and listening time of about 16 minutes.
The opening track, "Essential End" is definitely thrown into the realm of Heavy Metal. The bass keeps this track in such a perfect place. The back end low tune is everything in this track. The guitars are phenomenal and the solo rips the track apart. The drums keep the track heavy and grounded. The vocals range from a modern Rock to a grittier and harder Metal vocal. "Pain", track two, is a little more on the lighter side, more centered in the Rock genre. These vocals are really great. I like the depth and range they have. The musicianship that was shown in the first track simply moves along into this track. While it's lighter than the opener, this track is still very hard and the energy is phenomenal.
Track three, "Sacrifice", is a softer track, but is still heavy in raw energy. You can hear it in the soft yet gripping guitars first, then hits even harder with the vocals. Again, these guys nail this thing called Rock music. There is something about each element in this track that pulls in the listener with its hard-hitting tone, but soft ambience. This is a beautiful piece and convinced me, that these guys have much more up their sleeves. The final track on "Deadwood" is "Wasted Time". This track is much harder and throws the EP back into the Metal-sphere. The guitars shred from the first moment. The drums and bass collide in a fiery wave of awesomeness and the vocals are grit and gold. This perfect combination creates another perfect track. The very essence of this track is screams freedom. The energy is pounding and the music is fierce.
"Deadwood" is an astounding EP. The production is killer, but the musicianship is extraordinary. I am a complete fan girl and can't wait to see what else these guys have up their sleeves next. The only disappointment here is that it is only 16 minutes. I don't think we've heard the last from them. If you're down to hear some kickass Rock Crossover Metal, ESSENTIAL END is where it is.
