Ephemera's Party - Lamento Ostinato album cover

What is an 'ephemera'? Who's 'party' is this? What the hell is going on here? Why would I never bet that this band comes from Germany? Why can't I have a proper CD album for review today? Why did I get such a promo copy, containing nothing more than the CD itself (not even a slim jewel case)? Why do I not get paid for all this shit - not the band/album - coming my way? Was it all because of Destruction?
Ephemera's Party was formed in Berlin, Germany by Thomas Rosenmerkel in 1989. Why have I never heard of them, then? Well...the first prize at a talents contest won as the recording of the Of Course I Am Happy Demo (1990). In 1993 the No Dreams No Disillusion debut saw the light of day and then Thomas Rosenmerkel and Michael Piranio joined German Thrash legends Destruction (replacing you know who...). Ephemera's Party rested in semi-peace 'till 1998, when the EP EP was released. In 2002 Thomas and Michael joined the new project of Sven Vormann (ex-Destruction ) and Michael Gerstlauer (ex-Hate Squader) named Jesus Chrysler Superskunk (the world's gone mad, did you know?). Phew...
The band does not even know what kind of music they wanna deal with. The truth is that the guitar/bass/drums work is notable. Good hooks, free solos, linear melodies and 'progressive' songwriting mode. Stop here. Nothing more could be interesting in this album. Average vocals, flat production and a tendency to play something from every single Rock/Metal genre you could imagine. This time Heavy, then Nu Metal, the next one being Thrash-y, then something Brutal this way comes, ending up to Crossover/Psycho dead-ends.
I found The Couldhaves And The Shouldhaves and Savoir Vivre/Savoir Mourir to be quite interesting tunes but this was due to my personal musical likes. Someone else would deal with some other tunes really fine. I'd just like to be informed whether someone found the complete album - at least - interesting.
Easy come, easy go. And I'm goin'... Does anyone remember Last Crack?
