Combine Melodic Death, Metalcore and Thrash, and you have the enigmatic German band ENFEEBLE. It has been a while since their debut was released in 2007, but 2013 saw he release of their sophomore album, "Encapsulate this Moment". What sets this band apart from being "just another Metalcore act" is their intelligent combination of styles; in just a small selection of tracks I hear old ARCH ENEMY, INVOCATOR, and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE.

"Shock Me" couldn't have been a better opening track, with light speed Thrash riffs that even out into a crushing pound, the driving force behind Lucas' powerful vocals, which psychotically deviate between Thrash, Harsh and -Core singing. I feel as if the epitome of the band's capability as musicians shines out the strongest in this track, with exceptional instrumental skill demonstrated to play the killer riff arrangements. "Cavity Door" is another brutal piece, equal in intensity, a deliberately heavier song but with subtle dashes of melody to solidify their strong, melodic roots at the forefront. Did I say the guitars are mind blowing?

"The Creation" carries on the symbiosis of melody and heaviness into Groove territories with riffs that melt into liquid chugs. Standouts on this track are clean-vocal performances, which, ordinarily, I can't stand in a lot of Metalcore. Luckily, the vocalist reminds me a lot of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and Norway's INSENSE; he does well to compliment his excellent growls and shouts. "As We Were Like Shadows" was a beautiful, touching way to end a contrastingly heavy album, consisting of only a couple of clean guitar tracks. Lucas' vocal performances are stellar, alternating between somber croons and powerful, catchy hooks.

The music that this band puts out goes beyond "Metalcore for the masses" and strives to stand out as something unique and genre-bending, well worth many a Metalhead's time.
