Founded by FATES WARNING drummer back in 1995, and hailing from Newington, Connecticut, ENEMY REMAINS is a Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band currently releasing their second full length album entitled No Faith in Humanity. As a mantra for everyday events depicted on the news, not only is the title prophetic but also a safe life philosophy, for example, for me the whole title should read also, All Faith in Music! A flawless work of production gives a high-quality sound that allows for harmonious vibes and energies to be created in the psyche of the listener throughout the entire album.
The way the guitar becomes entwined with the voice and the melodies to jump to the fore ground on the solos and melodic riffs is a complete rush of adrenaline to the core of the heart of the most hardcore fans of this genre and mostly all metal listeners, despite the clean lyrics or because of them. Ever since the opening of this album, energy is the living force that pushes the heartbeat throughout this work by the hands and voice of the musicians turned into very well structured and intelligent harmonies, melodies and riffs, setting a high standard for their next album and all of their upcoming live shows!
Although not my favorite way of depicting vocals or my most predilect form of metal, the quality of this work could not even be denied by someone deprived of their hearing senses. Amazing guitar work, amazing instrumentation and production to back up the extraordinary talent of the participants in this band, relentless and undying tracks that propel the soul of the listener even for first timers like myself, imagine what it would do for those specialists in the genre. "Civilization" is a very unique piece of music, for the fine lines it creates to become an agent of contrast in this record, a piano intro worthy of any major film production and a creation of balance amongst it when it comes to the art of playing with the senses of the audience, a true by the book move by the band, in order for the brain to assimilate all of the other tracks, providing a moment of calmness and contemplation, I guess someone has a certain knowledge on musicology too!
When death comes walking into your pathetic existence! What a strong line for such a strong song, "Divided by Hate" is to me a track that cannot be ignored for it implies the metal attitude out of the boundaries of technicalities and useless tags that can only work for those elitists searching to create division, ENEMY REMAINS, Welcome to the Metal Temple, we hope to be adding all of your comings and goings to the sacred scriptures of our canon very soon!
