Endstille - Verfuhrer album cover

Germany has always been a stable provider of reliable cars, awesome beer and classic Power Metal. Even though it's not a bad place to inspire you for some unholy Black Metal, let's face it, that scene pretty much belongs to the Scandinavians.
ENDSTILLE is one of those bands who've been trying to change that since the turn of the century and their 6(66)th release named VerfÏŒhrer has to be one of the finest efforts for some major ungodliness coming from their homeland. The cover sets the mood right, depicting Germany's last emperor, Wilhelm the 2nd in a butcher's outfit, complete with the cleaver, the blood and the whole works.
There is no need for an in depth analysis for such an album. From the first few seconds you realize this will be a face melting, unholy, evil spawn that was created to give you several punches in the neck till you spit out blood, the way true black metal was meant to be enjoyed. Iblis is an extremely talented vocalist, Mayhemic Destructor justifies his name through some relentless drumming, and Cruor's bass and Wachtfels raging guitars don't fall short either.
The production is really good, the band is for sure very talented, these guys know their job very well; this is true Black Metal in its finest form. I'm sure we will be seeing more of them in the future.
